Powderhorn takes on txt marketing: Deals, Alerts, Feedback, & txt2win Timing is everything. Especially for a ski area that needs to deliver timely messages about promotions, weather conditions, and/or short-term discounts for loyal customers, etc. Mobile marketing is a high-tech equivalent of passing notes in school. It is estimated that 203 million people in the United States are now cell phone users and over 10 billion text messages are sent each month. That's about 50 messages per person, per month. We wanted just a small percentage of this! Marketing budgets are prime targets for cost-cutting measures. Coming up with new and exciting ways to promote and increase sales are the cornerstone of any marketing department. nxtConcepts worked with Powderhorn Ski Resort, CO during the 2006/07 ski season to break the traditional marketing mold and create a mobile marketing campaign. The main goals for the "Plugged In" mobile campaign were to add value and boost customer loyalty. This was done by aggressively exploring what the cell phone technology could do and then integrating their marketing message into it. |
