Do It Yourself Newsletter  Just follow the steps below. Use these icons (top right of this section ones work) to create a PDF file, print, or email it for future reference. 1. Finalize newsworthy items or topics (events, what’s new, etc.) 2. Determine how to send the newsletter. (snail mail, email, or both) 3. Assemble mailing list into a CSV (Comma Separated File from Excel). 4. Select Name for newsletter title. 5. Design layout based on theme or other marketing materials. 6. Write copy. Make first draft. 7. Proof first draft for layout and copy. 8. Make changes and develop a final draft. 9. Deliver to printer or email server. 10. Proof in sending format prior to actually sending. 11. If printing-make sure to do a color proof at printer. Also, allow enough time for printing, drying, folding, and deliver to a mail house. 12. If emailing-make sure to have copies of the newsletter in both HTML and text. 13. Don’t forget to put yourself on the mailing list so you know when the newsletter has been delivered. 14. Send newsletters. 15. Develop a time table to consistently send newsletters. 16. Be ready for feedback or questions that are generated from newsletter.
