Do It Yourself Newspaper Advertising

 Just follow the steps below.  Use these icons (top right of this section) to create a PDF file, print, or email it for future reference.

1. Determine available budget.
2. Select papers based on the target market you are trying to reach.
3. Contact paper for sizing and pricing.
4. Develop ad layout and theme.
5. Write copy.  Include a special discount or promotion.
6. Develop time line for ad insertions.
7. Select dates to run.
8. Set up billing system- new account application.
9. Determine deadline dates for ads to be to papers.
10. Work with design, paper, or printer to develop camera ready ads.
11. Send ad copy/design to paper.
12. Clip ad for your records if possible.
