Do It Yourself Web Site

 Just follow the steps below.  Use these icons (top right of this section) to create a PDF file, print, or email it for future reference.

1. Develop a budget.  Get quotes for web site programs, design and/or copywriting.

2. Research on the web other sites your customers prefer.  Print best sites and mark best aspects.

3. Gather all collateral material to use as basis for site.

4. Get a domain name/URL (Start here...).

5. Put up a temporary site page.

6. View and choose from various pre-designed template layouts.

7. Set up permanent email addresses connected directly to the site (marketing @ yoursite.com)

8. Sketch a chart of how pages would interact with each other on the site.

9. Write a concise site description including what the site is meant to do, who it’s for, what features it will have, and when it will be ready.

10.  Adjust budget based on needs and wants.

11. Make changes to initial design template.

12. Insert text.

13. Final proof.

14. Put out on the internet.

15. Advertise web address & send a press release.

16. Check email daily.

15. Develop a time table to consistently maintain and update site.

16. Be ready for feedback or questions that are generated from newsletter.  Have people available to answer phones or email.
